Atlas AV, an International provider of award-winning audio-visual solutions have an excellent opportunity for AV Engineering Manager to lead our high-performing Engineering Team, working within the Audio Visual Industry on a permanent and full-time basis.

As the AV Engineering Manager you will take on a high level of responsibility in this role, you will by lead example, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are able to guide, mentor, grow, and support engineering teams.  You will you be tasked with carrying out installations to an impeccable standard and undertake the role of a site-foreman as and when required.

You will be flexible team player, demonstrate a high degree of problem solving skills, and have excellent communication and presentation skills.

This role involves a deep technical understanding of how different AV devices are connected and interfaced within larger integrated systems.

Key day-to-day tasks and responsibilities include

  • Lead a team of Audio-Visual Engineers on installations throughout the UK and the Rest of the World.
  • Produce and supervise Project Engineers drafting AV system schematics, cable schedules, floorplan mark-ups, and other project documentation.
  • Provide offsite testing and configuration of Audio-Visual equipment ensuring that all equipment is in working order and meets quality standards.
  • Provide onsite installation and commissioning of Audio-Visual products throughout the UK and the Rest of the World.
  • To effectively work to milestones, contingency plans and manage risks in order to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
  • Conduct site surveys where needed to ensure that the site has been built according to the design plans and provide updates to design documentation if required.
  • Work closely with Project Managers so that they can effectively plan for installation works.
  • When required, perform the role of Site Foreman on installations, working with the client, project manager and on-site team to ensure installation of equipment is to a high standard.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, management, colleagues, and partners to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
  • Communicate daily with management to provide regular feedback on progress and any issues.
  • Provide helpdesk support for existing customers.
  • To maintain an excellent working relationship with customers.

Skills highly desirable / Required

  • Have a full UK driving license
  • You will need to be organised, methodical and have excellent problem solving/fault finding skills
  • Be able to fit LCD/Plasma screens and projectors.
  • Crestron / Lutron / Control 4 or AMX Systems Integration advantageous (programming an advantage)
  • Due to the nature of this work you will require excellent communication skills be calm under pressure and want to deliver a first class service. You must feel comfortable dealing with high profile clients face to face.
  • Knowledge of Media Player / TV distribution / multi-room audio / Rack building / cable termination/ Connection of audio and video equipment and terminating Cat6.
  • The ability to read / understand wiring diagrams / schematics
  • Be prepared to travel and stay overnight if required – Overseas work also required
  • Be an Audio Visual engineer/ manager with proven experience installing, commissioning

Hours of work are flexible on a normal working week of Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm with ability to commute from Home to projects/ sites direct.

Salary: £25,000 to £32,000 based on experience, holidays, pension and other benefits as expected.

Our head office is based in Swansea which you will need to attend as required or be based from here dependent on location.

  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence essential.
  • Ability to travel abroad.
