Executive Director of Policy & Communications - Cardiff

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen at the Welsh Refugee Council. We are looking for an Executive Director of Policy & Communications who will play a pivotal role in defining, creating and maintaining the policy and public affairs environment to ensure that the strategic and operational plans support the charity’s vision, mission and objectives.

Details of the role:

Reporting to: Chief Executive

Scale & Salary: £35,683 + 5% pension

Term: Fixed term until 31st March 2020

Hours: 35 hours per week (normal office hours are 9:00 to 5:00 but this role will involve some agreed out of hours’ activity and working away from the office)

Location: Cardiff (all-Wales post)

The main purpose of the role is to lead WRC’s work in influencing policy, legislation and practice in order to promote refugee inclusion and a fair and humane asylum system. The post will oversee a small team to deliver against the organisation’s broader policy, research and communications activity.
