We are looking for an Assistant Cook to join our passionate and committed team of care and support staff within Llys y Seren Residential Care Home.

As a Kitchen Assistant you will be part of the catering team ensuring the highest standards are achieved to meet the needs to the residents. The Kitchen Assistant has to demonstrate attitudes and beliefs consistent with being person centred. You will work with colleagues to provide the best service to the people we support which is truly aspirational and person centred.

This post is for 24 hours per week and temporary for 6 months.

Duties will include:

* Preparing, cooking and serving meals (including portion control and provision of special dietary meals where necessary).
* Implementing health and safety in the kitchen, including food hygiene, infection control and COSHH.
* Demonstrating meticulous personal hygiene within the kitchen including demonstrating good hand washing techniques
* Supporting the service to order, invoice and receipt food using the appropriate systems.
* Ensuring correct storage of all food (including deep freeze).
* Providing assistance as required at meal times to people we support.
* Actively engaging with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
