What is special about this opportunity?

Cwmgelli Lodge is a brand new purpose built 24 bed care home for adults (18 years plus) in Blackwood. We offer nursing care across two communities - Daffodil and Rose Suite.

Daffodil offers support for people living with physical disability and neurological conditions such as Stroke, Huntington's and Acquired Brain Injury. Rose offers support for people living with a dementia and other associated conditions.

The home has been purposely designed to provide a bright, positive and vibrant environment to meet the needs of younger adults. It is a beautiful place to live, and a positive and vibrant place to work. Cwmgelli has excellent staff to resident ratios which mean we can deliver true person centered care every day and make a real difference.

You’ll be part of an established team, so you’ll have plenty of support at all times.

For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.

How can I make a difference?

As a Care Worker you will be involved in day-to-day support including: personal care, and assistance with eating and drinking as well as supporting people to engage in their hobbies and interests.

Who are we looking for?

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are;

* Excellent communication skills, with an enthusiastic and positive outlook
* Ability to respond to people’s emotional, psychological, social and spiritual needs
* The confidence to work as part of a team in a sometimes challenging environment, using your own initiative
* The desire to develop skills, undertaking appropriate training courses when offered
