The Organisation

Wales & West Housing is one of the leading housing providers in Wales. We operate across 15 local authority areas, providing quality affordable homes and services to more than 19,000 residents. We are a major Welsh employer, with over 390 staff at WWH and 250 staff in our two subsidiary companies - figures that are growing year on year. We have three main offices situated in north Wales, west Wales and our headquarters in Cardiff.

The Candidate

We are looking for a self–motivated, well organised and highly efficient Governance Manager to support our Chief Executive and Board.

This post will work to the Chief Executive, to ensure that the highest standards of governance are in place. The post will also act as Company Secretary for the WWH subsidiary companies and will assist the Company Secretary of WWH in ensuring that all statutory corporate returns are made in line with deadlines.

We are looking for someone who genuinely understands the importance of good governance / best practice and who has a detailed knowledge and understanding of governance frameworks within a regulated sector.

The successful candidate will be highly computer literate with the ability to think laterally and analyse and solve complex problems and make decisions. The successful candidate will also be able to work across a wide range of complex issues in an organised and methodical manner.

A born organiser you will have a track record of making good judgments and prioritising issues in a fast-moving environment, to ensure that the Chief Executive and Board are always well informed.

This role is highly visible and so a professional attitude and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
