Summary

We have a rare opportunity to join our Payroll team at a senior level as our Payroll Manager. You will manage the entirety of the payroll function for around 2,800 employees with a mix of monthly and weekly payrolls required.

We are looking for someone who can bring their passion, expertise and leadership skills to the team and business. Ideally, we’d like someone who has worked in a large company, with multiple payrolls, and charity experience.

How can I make a difference?

You will support the Financial Controller (Reporting and Compliance) in delivering the Payroll element of the Finance Strategy, ensuring the Group’s potential is fully exploited and that the vision is delivered.

You will manage a small payroll team across 2 sites, with overall responsibility for Payroll Processing Services. You will maintain and develop reporting, payroll systems and processes ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively. You will also maintain and develop internal financial controls, and have a continuous improvement approach, making changes where required moving the service forward, ensuring legislative changes are incorporated.

For this role a “Difference maker” has:

* A recognised payroll qualification or equivalent experience, with evidence of continued professional development
* Knowledge and understanding of payroll processes, systems and legislation.
* Extensive experience as a payroll manager in a high quality, service focused organisation with a proven track record in delivering an effective and efficient finance service.
* Experience of managing and dealing with Tax, NI, SPP, SMP, SAP, SSP etc.
* Experience of maintaining payroll software. (Experience of I trent Midland Hr system is desirable but not essential)
