What is special about this opportunity?

The New Homes Officer role is responsible for the management of the end of tenancy process, the marketing of our housing stock and the allocation of our existing stock and new developments.

How can I make a difference?

As New Homes Officer you will:

* Undertake thorough pre-tenancy assessments with customers, identifying potential risks and making appropriate referrals for advice, support and/ or training, where applicable.
* Liaise with relevant teams on progress with the empty property turnaround process.
* Contribute to the marketing/ advertising of our empty properties.
* Manage applications for housing, including working in partnerships with Local Authorities
* Liaise with internal/ external teams and partners to ensure that customers are fully equipped to manage their tenancy.
* Manage the allocation process for general needs, sheltered, care and intermediate market rental properties, including refusals.

Who are we looking for?

You must have the ability to communicate effectively with customers who have varied backgrounds and reasons for requiring housing. You should have the ability to identify potential risks and ensure that appropriate support or signposting is provided. You will need to work closely with colleagues internally and external agencies.

A thorough understanding of the communities within which we operate is essential as is knowledge of the wider Housing sector and the challenges we face. .

It is important that you can work effectively in a pressured environment and have a positive attitude towards the work that we do.
