New Directions Care and Support are looking to recruit Support Workers across Cardiff East Area

Overview of Job Role:

  • As a support worker for New Directions you will be supporting individuals within their own homes or the community.
  • Promoting independence, encouragement and individual's wellbeing.
  • Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with the individuals we support and their families.
  • Following New Directions Policies and Procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team
  • Passionate in supporting adults with learning disabilities
  • Ability to communicate with people on all levels
  • Primarily working in the Cardiff East area, but available to work in other areas of Cardiff.
  • Motivated towards making a positive difference to individuals lives, enabling them to meet their personal goals and aspirations
  • flexibility and reliability is essential in order to maintain consistency for the individuals we support
  • Ability to complete paperwork
  • Must be available to attend induction training and update training (1 week)
  • Car Driver with use of own vehicle with business use
  • Ability to deliver personal care, whilst providing privacy, dignity and respect at all times
  • Previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities
  • available to work weekends )(at least every other)

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working with adults with challenging behaviour
  • QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Enhanced Adult and Child DBS - Portable
