Production Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen within an industry leading manufacturer in the Port Talbot who require a Production Controller to join their team on an initial 6-month fixed term contract. Working within a team you will be responsible for organizing production according to demand and quality standards. Ensuring parts/components are produced on time and in an efficient and profitable manner, ensuring smooth and cost-effective production operations.


- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
- Assign workers and other staff to particular production operations
- Schedule shift according to production needs
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports
- Keep paperwork organized
- Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff


- Experience in a similar role within low volume, high value manufacturing environment
- Experience with MRP and scheduling systems within a SAP system
- Excellent IT Skills
- Planning proactive anticipates problems and develops effective plans / contingency actions
- Communication ensures key messages are understood and the required actions are taken
- Problem solving is able to solve problems and get things done
- Resilient, copes well with pressure and changing circumstances
- Understanding of inventory control
- Understand requirements of quality system
- Display understanding of the overall company supply chain, and in particular an in-depth knowledge of manufacturing process and resourcing of production plans (including inbound logistics, machine capacity and performance, labour requirements etc.)
