Job: Operations Manager (Perm) - Full Time (37.5 hours - Monday to Friday)
Salary: Up to £55,000 (dependant on experience)

Reports to : Site Director

Job Background 

We are excited to be offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join Finsbury Food Group. The successful candidate will be joining a manufacturing company who are investing in new business opportunities and growth. The role will join a new team in Cardiff.

The Operations Manager will be managing all production for the site and therefore responsible for driving and designing the operational priorities, aligned to the new business and support its growth. This is a broad role, and we’re looking for someone that has strong experience in this area and has a strong desire to be part of an exciting opportunity with the business.   

It is an excellent time to join this growing business as further investments are planned for 2018 and beyond.

Role Summary

  • To lead the manufacturing operations of the new business
  • Have a hands-on approach and deliver strategic operational leadership across all aspects of production and fulfilment
  • Consider profit and cost in activities and decision makin
  • Ensure that all departmental targets are met and that performance is constantly monitored, initiating corrective action as appropriate.


Skills/Knowledge and Experience


  • Experience of managing fulfillment & production operations in food, beverage, or perishables manufacturing or distribution
  • Proven success of managing large teams of 100+ employees
  • Effective project management skills, well-versed in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement
  • Food Science or related degree or further education in food i.e. A Food Degree, Micro biology Degree, HND
  • Experience of implementing new ideas, processes, and systems
  •  Experience in effective leadership and management of bakery resources to deliver the operational requirements
