Opportunity for a mechanical maintenance technician / mechanical technician to work for an industry-leading company with outstanding career development opportunities. The company is an established manufacturing company supplying a range of niche world-class products to major blue-chip clients across the globe and have recently been awarded a large contract with a company who rank in the top 10 of world companies based on revenue. The company employ over 200 people at their Port Talbot site and offer a culture which is close-knit and friendly.

The mechanical maintenance technician / mechanical technician will be responsible for maintaining and improving production facilities and process equipment, reducing breakdowns and developing plans to improve overall reliability and safety of the plant, equipment, and production processes.

As the mechanical maintenance technician / mechanical technician, your duties will include:

* Providing mechanical support for machine breakdowns.
* Carrying out maintenance of plant and equipment.
* Assisting in maintenance planning.
* Maximising machine utilisation by the reduction of breakdowns.
* Maintaining action plans and risk assessments.
* Carrying out safety inspections.
* Fault finding and diagnosis on complex systems.
* Inputting improvements where appropriate.
* Ensuring compliance to customer, legislative and environmental specifications.

To be a successful mechanical maintenance technician / mechanical technician, you will have the following skills and experience:

* Maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Time served or qualified to ONC/HNC level.

In return, the mechanical maintenance technician / mechanical technician will receive a salary of up to £32,000 (depending on experience) + 25 days on top of bank holidays + pension scheme (5% increasing to 7.5% in 2019) + annual variable bonus plan (discretionary) + childcare vouchers + eyecare scheme.

The hours of work for this role are Monday -Thursday (8 am – 4:30 pm) and Friday (8 am – 3:30 pm)
