Installation Manager 

Description

This position manages installation technicians and support staff on all projects.  Assists Management team with ensuring job profitability through development/implementation of processes/policies to improve efficiencies in the installation department establishing quality control guidelines and assisting with the development of the installation budget.  Assists technical staff with high-end customer-related issues.  All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by the Company procedures, while assuring a professional and safe working environment.  Communicates effectively with technical staff and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management - Manages the performance of technical personnel on all projects including the management of day-to-day needs of installation staff including praise, motivation and discipline, maintaining active field presence
  • Job Profitability - Responsible for job profitability including monitoring labor cost, material, margin/mark-up and contract approval.  Monitors accuracy of installation job orders and responsible for providing the Managing Director with monthly billing projections and job profit results
  • Supporting Proposal/Contract engineering process
  •  Efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Quality Control/Journey to Performance Excellence - Establishes criteria to improve quality control, responsible for analysing and identifying reasons for overages and job profit review.
  • Assist in formulating policy, procedures and guidelines that would further the growth, development and professionalism of the installation department with a goal of superior customer satisfaction.  Responsible for managing installation technical and support staff with high-end customer-related installation issues
  • Processes/policies for the installation department, manages all safety training requirements and quality control programs
  • Maintain accurate records of all installation jobs and intervenes at job site as necessary.  Provide accurate, detailed and timely paperwork and reports to management
  • Responsible for administering installation technicians and support staff’s performance reviews based on productivity, quality, attendance, job profit and technical advancements
  • Build and maintain working relations with the sales staff 
  • Assist with new system sales to Customer accounts

 Additional Duties:

  • Research and obtain information on position specific training opportunities
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management

Education:

Desirable education requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. Candidate should be proficient with software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.  Prior supervisory/management experience with proven record of high productivity, quality, and attendance is required.  This person must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people.
