Technical Author - To support the Maintenance Task Identification process within all works areas.
Main Responsibilities:
The maintenance tasks will be generated from the MTI process and will be written up in a spreadsheet format ready for tasks to be transferred into the business system (SAP). Applicants need not be from an engineering background but a good understanding of engineering technology would be beneficial.
The position involves:
- Writing up maintenance tasks
- Entering details into an electronic medium, typically a spreadsheet ready for transfer into the SAP maintenance system
- Liaise with MST team to ensure accurate and efficient transfer of data
- Track progress of all changes. Update any progress monitors.
- Attend MTI workshops/meetings to record minutes, capture updates in standard Microsoft applications ie Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
- General office administration
The key skills required are technical authorship supported with IT and ideal applicants will have:
- Intermediate IT skills
- Technical writing skills
- Self motivation
- Computer literacy using Microsoft Office
- Previous experience of Lotus Notes and SAP (not essential but advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills
- An ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
- A methodical approach to their work
- A keen eye for detail (essential)
Hours of Work:
(36.5 per week) Monday to Thursday 08.30 - 4.45 Friday 08.30 - 3.45
Pay:
£9.50 ph to be reviewed after 3 months based on knowledge and competence.
