Capgemini have a requirement for a senior java developer to be based on client site in South Wales. Primary technology skills required for supporting the Programme Project Information Management System (PPIMS) application are Rational Application Toolset, J2EE (including JSF, JSP, EJB), Spring, JUnit, Hibernate, FileNet P8 Application Engine, FileNet P8 Content Engine, FileNet P8 Process Engine, FileNet P8 Microsoft Office Integration, SQL Server 2000, T-SQL, Kofax Ascent Capture (including VRS), Kofax ASIS, Websphere Application Server, ISA, DIS, MQ Series, XML, Maven. IBM IHS, VMWare ESX, VMWare GSX.
The role would also be responsible for the configuration, build and release management of the bespoke java components within PPIMS. The roles will require a minimum of 4-5 years experience in J2EE development in a commercial environment. You should be a fully competent Java developer, with exposure to a wide range of alternative technologies including the use of Business Rules, Content and Workflow engines as central components of solutions. You will also require experience of working on client site with both client and internal resources using iterative development methods.
Person Profile (essential/desirable)
• Have gained or be working towards senior level professional java certification
• Show knowledge of the design patterns and their areas of applicability
• Demonstrate full knowledge and best practice use of Hibernate (2-3 years) together with good knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL
• Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Websphere V6.0x or greater
• Demonstrate a good working knowledge of integrating J2EE solutions with other product components through the use of API’s and other methods
• Demonstrate good knowledge of configuration and release management process utilising Rational ClearCase, Maven, Ant and Cruise Control.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of integrating solutions with Business Rules engines / services, Workflow Engines and Content management engines
• Is able to demonstrate a good industry awareness by discussing appropriate service offerings
• Creates, seeks and acts upon opportunities to obtain and share knowledge
• Can discuss the appropriate Best Practices used at different points in the project and application management life cycle.
• A knowledge of working in government or public sector environments is desirable
