Welcome to the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers course, offered by ULearn College. The Bookkeeping course can be studied in your own time at a pace that suits you.

How does ICB Bookkeeping work?

Bookkeeping is a growing profession - it is demanding, exciting, challenging and above all, rewarding. It is about understanding how a business works and then providing accurate figures that enable the business to know exactly how well it is doing. For men and women of all ages and from all backgrounds it provides outstanding career opportunities.

Currently membership at Associate level (AICB) requires successful completion of the Level I and II examinations. Membership at full Member level (MICB) requires subsequent successful completion of the Level III examination. The Payroll Diploma does not lead to an offer of membership but the additional letters PM.Dip.

Benefits of Bookkeeping

  • Passing this qualification enables you to register with The Institute of Certified Bookkeeping
  • Qualification as an ICB member will allow you to use letters after your name
  • Every business, no matter how large or small, is required by law to 'keep books’; bookkeeping could be the career for you.
  • Well-paid career running a bookkeeping business from home whilst still bringing up their family.

“At a recent ICB Members seminar it was established that self employed ICB Bookkeepers in certain regions are achieving £45 per hour. For a 20 hour week this is £46,800 per year”

How much is the Bookkeeping?

Enrol now to achieve your Bookkeeping qualification, you can become an Associate Member for as low as £350. For this price you will receive all of the work books, exam fees, 12 months registration with the ICB and access to a tutor via email or telephone.

*Please Note:

1. Examinations must be taken in 'level order': meaning that applications cannot be made for the Level III until the preceding Level I and Level II qualifications have been passed.  The exception to this rule is Payroll for which there is only one level of qualification, the Level III Diploma in Payroll Management, so there are no preceding level requirements.

2. Until September 2011, membership will be granted where only one type of Level II qualification is gained on the understanding that the remaining qualification in the level will be completed by end of September 2011 to retain membership.
